The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining says it has established dedicated hotlines for persons in the sector to report Hurricane Melissa damage.

The Ministry says the Category 5 storm has dealt an extensive blow to the lives and livelihoods of farmers, fishers and miners.

To facilitate the immediate reporting of damages and to provide timely support, the Ministry has set up dedicated hotlines in addition to its regular telephone lines.

It says the lines are operational and staffed by Ministry personnel ready to provide stakeholders with the requisite support as we embark on recovery efforts.

Stakeholders are strongly encouraged to make contact with the Ministry and/or its agencies immediately to ensure their losses are accurately documented and that they can be quickly integrated into the Ministry’s damage assessment and recovery plan.
